Description

This photo features Jim Felton's log roadhouse and his general store in foreground across mid-image. In immediate foreground a gravel road lies diagonally from center right to lower left. A grass strip lies parallel to the road at left. A post and wire fence with a picket gate parallels the far edge of the grass, beyond which lies the log lodge. At an estimated approximately sixty feet long, the single-story structure appears to be of three sections under one roof with its door in the center facing the street. Two chimneys emerge from the planked roof, one near each end. Just past the end of the roadhouse to the right is the more modern frame-constructed store, turned with its white-painted south wall facing the camera and its east end entrance door and windows in shade.
