Description

This color image is a summer view of buildings in Palmer as seen from the hill on the west side of John Bugge's homestead. The green fields in foreground exhibit invasion of trees and the absence of fences and long-standing log structures indicate changes in management of the homestead from that indicated in earlier similar photos. Buildings of the town in middle ground, such as the Co-op grain elevator, indicate the photo was taken some time in the late 1960's or early 1970's. The mountains in background are greened up with snow remnants only in minor deep shaded gulleys indicating summer is well along.
