Description

This image looks across a gravel street in foreground at a large hole being excavated by a man on a cat tractor. The hole at the left and the dirt pile is at the right with the cat on the pile. Another man stands at center on the near side of the hole. A stake bed truck and two dump trucks are partially visible beyond the dirt pile. Koslosky"s Department Store, with attached Matanuska Valley Bank, is partially visible in middle ground across the street at left. The Valley Hotel is also visible in middle ground across the street. Two cars are parked on the street, one in front of the store and one in front of the bank. At extreme right in far middle ground is a Quonset hut.
